Mr Sandy stated that the newsletter would serve as a means of communicating vital issues not only to the staff of ASSL but also to the public. He explained that on the 6th January 2011 he made a promise during the Annual Strategic Planning meeting at Mamba Point Hotel that he would be producing a newsletter for ASSL.
Pointing to the newsletter, he said, “I am happy that I have been able to fulfill that promise by producing the maiden edition of the newsletter”.
Mr Sandy encouraged staff to contribute to the next edition as the newsletter belonged to ASSL and not to the IEC Division. He informed the staff that the next edition would be out in July 2011.
The Acting Auditor General, Mrs Lara Taylor-Pearce, expressed satisfaction over the production of the newsletter. She pointed out that it would serve as a means of informing the staff, public and partners about the activities of ASSL. She commended the IEC Officer for producing the newsletter and advised him to do more in taking ASSL to the public.
